Georeferenced digital images.
The latest release of the CropTraktm and other co-branded mobile software delivers the ability to capture and store digital images in conjunction with a GPS coordinate reference. A device like the iPAQ hw6515 can be used to capture an image that the user can then attach to a field note and store in the underlying SQL CE database. Audio files could also be used if desired. The imagery can be viewed as clickable points on a map layer once the mobile device is synchronized with the host system. This capability offers additional field data documentation capabilities on easily obtainable inexpensive hardware.
